About The Artist
Name:
Ronald Charles Chapman.
Media:
Oil Painting and soft pastels are the artist's favorite media
Favorite Subjects:
Portrait, figure and western landscapes
Professional Art Groups:
The artist is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, Portrait Society of America, Knickerbocker Artists, Allied Artists of America, Lone Star Pastel Society, Oklahoma Pastel Society and others
Art Style:
Some writers describe my work as lyrical or a romantic approach to realism. The artist strives for a strong light source, sometimes with high value contrasts often projecting a special mood or drama in his art. My purpose is almost always to convey the beauty in everyday scenes or capture some of my sitters personality. To show there is much more in creation than what appears on the surface and communicate that feeling to those who view my art.
Commissions:
The artist's long list of commissions include murals, portraits and landscapes for federal and state agencies, church stained glass designs, and advertising work. His art appears in well known museums and galleries throughout the Unites States and abroad.
